Letter of protest

By From page A7 | June 06, 2014

Directors Prada and Day are proposing increasing water rates to small farmers. This would destroy many small farms. These directors should be trying to foster small farms, not destroy them.

If the district board eliminated the Small Farm Water Rate, then logically they should eliminate the Agricultural Water Rate to provide equal treatment under the statutes to their customers. To eliminate the Agricultural Water rate would be devastation to big farmers and severely damaging to El Dorado County.

I hereby file protest to any change in the Small Farm Water rates.

I request that EID mail notices that you are considering eliminating the Small Farm Water rates to all individuals who are currently on the Small Farm Water rate.

Small farms are an asset to El Dorado County. They should be promoted, not decimated.
