This is an open letter to Speaker of the House, John Boehner.
This letter is pertaining to the president’s exchange sending five senior Taliban commanders back to Qatar in exchange for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. I urge the House of Representatives, through you as its speaker, to initiate two monumental actions. They are:
- Formally request the Department of the Army to commence court martial proceedings against Sgt. Bergdahl for leaving his post in Afghanistan during war time. There is much evidence reported in the news media which indicates the sergeant deserted his unit and turned himself into the Taliban (our enemy). It is reported that his act enabled the enemy to kill at least six and possibly 8-10 more brave American soldiers. A full and properly conducted military court martial should uncover the truth of what happened with Sgt. Bergdahl in 2009 and into the current year. Further, I believe the full House should debate this resolution in open, hopefully televised, hearings, and members and witnesses should present facts and opinions offered only when supported by evidence.
- Select a special committee of the House to investigate impeaching the president for gross dereliction of duty (during war time), in his exchanging five senior Taliban commanders for Sgt. Bergdahl along with the president’s many actions to circumvent the Constitution and the laws of our land as a monarch or dictator is wont to do. Again, I urge this Special Committee to conduct open hearings, hopefully televised, so the American people may/hear/see what is transpiring.
These two new actions by the House may put extra burden on members and their staff, but other House business (not the Benghazi Select Committee), may readily be put aside for these monumental actions.
