Local fire districts

EDITOR:

I have a question? What do we do with the local fire districts? I believe that the mission of Cal Fire and the local fire districts is quite different. While we both work toward the same goal, our responsibilities differ. I suggest that the level of training for a seasonal Cal Fire firefighter be compared to that of any permanent fire employee. You would be surprised. I spent most of my adult life in the fire service. I have worked for both CDF and a local fire district. Where does the money come from to upgrade Cal Fire? Everyone is experiencing financial problems.

    Local Fire Departments are there when your house is on Fire or your son wrecked his motorcycle and needs immediate medical attention. They're part of "Public Safety" at the local level ...... CalFire is a State Agency and fights wild-land fires..... but as always......One department supports the other..... We can't do without either.....and I thank them for THEIR SERVICE to the local and state communities.... If we are experiencing financial problems let's cut 6-digit salaries FIRST!
