Machado and margaritas

EDITOR:

If Machado thinks he can go to Mexico to do his public service he better see if they will let a convicted felon into the country.

If so, he could be sitting at the beach with a margarita and telling his friends how he pulled the wool over the eyes of everyone in Placerville.

He needs to pick up trash around Placerville and put down his hammer.

  1. Ya Think says:

How does the church and his sentence fit, they don’t, he should be cleaning Main Street from East to West with a toothbrush since he wasn’t to bring one to jail where he belongs.

  2. Kathleen Newell says:

I know Canada has a tough border rule. Any U.S. citizen with an arrest and conviction is usually denied entry. Folks on CA cruise ships traveling to Alaska through Canadian waters have been pulled off, questioned, and told not to return. Wonder if Mexico has those border rules. Aside from that, he should do community service here. There’s lots of road garbage to pick up around here.

  3. margaret says:

Yes, there is a lot of road garbage to be picked up and Dave Machado is the very biggest piece of road garbage around. It’s just a travesty that the good ol boy network worked again for another slimeball, just as they have in the past. If he gets into Mexico, I hope he never comes back. He is the nastiest business owner in Placerville, and please, Dave, go somewhere else and inflict yourself on that place.

  4. Art McAbee says:

Every time I see Machado holding court with his buddies at Starbuck’s or some other public place, it just makes my skin crawl. He laughs and jokes like there is nothing in the world wrong. I don’t know why he didn’t get a tougher sentence. He sure deserved one, not only for being a felon, but being one miserable human being.

  5. Ken Steers says:

Well here it goes, I think the punishment fit the crime. As adults we all know the cost of litigation. I don’t think his lawyer worked pro bono. He got 6 months and can’t ever hold office again. He was also forced to sign his confession so he can’t recant his story down the road. I’m not sure why anyone would want to go thru that.
As far as drinking coffee with friends or going to church? You might want to question those people or his pastor as to why. But I won’t. Finally we do have more house cleaning to do

  6. Imagine says:

Imagine El Dorado County absent any GOB’s, corrupt politicians, BOS, planning, consultants etc. So many being exposed why aren’t many more going through the “Kiss System” and given that special deal, I mean it’s free so why not take advantage of this new style of punishment.
The recent election cycle exposed a lot of graft and corruption but to no avail, it’s all there and now what will be done about it?
One would think the Sheriff and DA would be happy to investigate and the Judges sentence them to show us all why we elected them. But instead we are shown why we should replace them, it’s upside down don’t you think.

  7. wondering says:

Will Dave’s probation officer (he has one?) be checking up on him and community service hours served in Mexico? What a gig!

  8. Law Dog says:

Ken, if you think that the punishment fit the crime and it’s such a bad thing that public opinion, then I have a bridge under water to sell ya. This sentence is a total laughing matter and I’m sure that the good ol mayor and his attorney have been slapping their hands, backs and bottoms as they pulled this off. Judge W should just fold his tent and walk off into the sunset as he has lost all faith anyone ever had in his ability to handle the slam dunk cases put before him. Community service in Mexico who are they kidding oh yeah it’s us.
