Must we always have destruction?

EDITOR:

On Saturday, Oct. 13 I decided to take my dog for a walk on the Missouri Flat section of the trail. After all it was a beautiful day and probably one of the last before the rain. As we started our walk I noticed two huge gray squares on the right of the trail. Thinking that something new had been added I was curious. As we got closer I realized that the portable toilets had been tipped over. Don’t the people responsible know that every act of this kind takes away from the community as a whole? One can think that this kind of act is a prank but nothing could be farther from the truth — someone always ends up paying in the end and it may be your parents. I am not sure why destruction is such an atractive entity. It just begets more of the same and finally the people who put forth the efforts in the first place refuse to give more. Who can blame them? Let’s hope that the idiots who perform these destructive antics and proclaim their victories will be caught and be made to perform community service to right their wrongs.
