National Day of Prayer (NDP) is an annual national observance held on the first Thursday of May, designated by Congress when people are asked “to turn to God in prayer.” Thursday, May 2 is the 62nd NDP.
As usual, there will be two different county-wide prayer services in Placerville. Both are free, the public is welcome and encouraged to attend. The morning event begins at 6:45 a.m. with a Continental Prayer Breakfast at Cold Springs Community Church located at 2600 Cold Springs Road. The evening outdoor prayer service begins at 5:45 p.m. on the front steps of the Superior Court House at 495 Main Street in Placerville.
Please arrive a little early and if you have one, please bring a small American flag and if you can, a folding chair. The theme for this year is “Pray for America,” emphasizing the need for individuals, corporately and individually, to place their faith in the unfailing character of their Creator, who is sovereign over all governments and men. To highlight the theme, Matthew 12:21 was chosen by the NDP Task Force as the scripture for this year which is “In His name the nations will put their hope.”
Please consider gathering together as one voice, in praise and prayer, for our county and for the nation. And may God bless us as we bless Him!
