New group to take seniors shopping

By November 5, 2010

EDITOR: A newly formed group with representatives from local agencies and businesses will be performing community service projects for the benefit of our Senior community throughout the year.

The first project will be an outing on Nov. 9 to WalMart for Christmas shopping. Each senior will be presented with a $25 WalMart gift card to use for their purchases.

Following the shopping, the seniors will be taken to Eskaton for a complimentary lunch. After lunch, the volunteers will assist the seniors with wrapping their purchases.

Volunteers from the participating agencies and businesses will be providing transportation and assistance for the Seniors. This group is already planning their next event which will be help in the spring of 2011.

The agencies and businesses participating are Help At Home Inc, Robinson’s Pharmacy, A Helping Hand, Eskaton, and El Dorado County Senior Day Care Center.
