‘No, no, no’ doesn’t work

EDITOR:

Dear Tea Party Member,

So, you voted for a congressman, Tom McClintock, who promised to curb government spending. According to your news-sources (FOX) the deficit continues to grow and the excessive spending has not stopped at all, even though the House of Representatives is supposed to appropriate all the funds for the government.

Perhaps Tom McClintock’s method of blocking everything and saying no to anything did not work after all. Perhaps it would have worked better if there had been some Congress people that were willing to work together and craft a solution that headed us in the right direction instead of just voting “no, no, no.” Those all-or-nothing Congress people like McClintock created the present total gridlock in our govemment.

Republicans block anything the Democrats propose and Democrats block anything Republicans bring forth. And it will not matter who becomes president, if Congress remains as deadlocked as it is now the government will continue to be as ineffective and wasteful as it is now — nothing will change or get done for another two years. And we, the citizens of this country, will pay the price.

If you are serious about curbing excess government spending and if you are serious about creating jobs in our region there is an alternative to Tom’s “NO, NO, NO” policies. Take a serious look at John Uppal. He is a moderate running against Tom McClintock and he is eager to talk and work with anyone who wants to move the government out of its morass. The tactic of voting “no” on everything did not curb government spending and most certainly did not create any jobs. Perhaps electing someone willing to listen to and work with the other side would give us a better chance to get out of the current recession.

Let me get this straight. In order to do something about the debt we need people who are more like nancy pelosi and harry reid and less like McClintock? I for one am not the slightest bit interested in people who want to work with the leftist in government. Moderate is just a term used by people who know they can't get elected running as the leftist that they are. To blaim the gop for what obama has added to the debt and the record number on food stamps and the record number of months with staggering unemployment is right out of fairytale land.

Well McClintock did say YES, YES, YES to California's Cotton Growers... He argued for 20 min on Jan. 26, 2010 the House floor for HR 3105 to let WESTLANDS (Ted Sheely, Cotton Farmer and Multi Millionaire that collects more the $4M in tax subsidies for CA's water) take 40% of the Delta's fresh water.... and Again argued for 33 min on Feb. 29, 2012 for HR 1837 to once again let WESTLANDS to take 40% of Delta's fresh water..... When did McClintock argue for 2 min...or 1 min... for the People of District 4??? Steely is proud of him...who lives on the 46th floor of a building in downtown LA (small farmer struggling HA).....and gave Tom $40,000.... Tom doesn't need us... He needs low informed voters to keep him in office to vote in a Block with Kern County Congressmen
