All this back and forth about what Congress can or will do with respect to new laws on purchasing or registering firearms is irrelevant. The Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) contains a clearly written portion on the subject, essentially affirming recent SCOTUS rulings anyway. From page 39: “PROTECTION OF SECOND AMENDMENT GUN RIGHTS.—øAs
added by section 10101(e)(2)¿
‘‘(1) WELLNESS AND PREVENTION PROGRAMS.—A wellness
and health promotion activity implemented under subsection
(a)(1)(D) may not require the disclosure or collection of any information
relating to—
‘‘(A) the presence or storage of a lawfully-possessed
firearm or ammunition in the residence or on the property
of an individual; or
‘‘(B) the lawful use, possession, or storage of a firearm
or ammunition by an individual.
‘‘(2) LIMITATION ON DATA COLLECTION.—None of the authorities
provided to the Secretary under the Patient Protection
and Affordable Care Act or an amendment made by that
Act shall be construed to authorize or may be used for the collection
of any information relating to—
‘‘(A) the lawful ownership or possession of a firearm or
ammunition;
‘‘(B) the lawful use of a firearm or ammunition; or
‘‘(C) the lawful storage of a firearm or ammunition.
‘‘(3) LIMITATION ON DATABASES OR DATA BANKS.—None of
the authorities provided to the Secretary under the Patient
Protection and Affordable Care Act or an amendment made by
that Act shall be construed to authorize or may be used to
maintain records of individual ownership or possession of a
firearm or ammunition.”

There is something about a Monk’s vow of silence I would like liberals to observe and learn from. Something like remain silent if not speaking the truth, this can apply to all politicians for that matter for I favor none who would in any way undermine the founding principles of this Republic and Amendments to the Bill of Rights written so many years ago. And now, as we wrap up one of the few living Medal of Honor ceremonies, remember this, 53 American soldiers surrounded by 300-400 Taliban fighters and the battle they fought and won with valor and arms and air power. The battle will remain legend, as will this battle to defend our Constitution and the 2nd Amendment.

Sure they don’t mean to abolish citizen’s rights, liberals never lie, they never release thousands of felons early for crime sprees, and The Bummer did a great job in Chicago protecting people from violence and Feinstein made San Fran safe, right? Check out the crazy shtuff published by the Gazette of the United States (Federalist) and Aurora (Republican) around the election of 1796. Yes, by the time the first contested presidential election occurred, hyper-partisanship — in spite of Washington’s admonition to the contrary, not to mention the Alien and Sedition Act — was in full force. Dearest Sylvia, it makes me smile in a sad sort of way when people take the DC Skunks at their word. Politicians very, very rarely tell us the whole truth or even part of the truth when it comes to their true intentions. Do you really believe that the pols at the forefront of this debate (Obama, Biden, Feinstein, Cuomo, Schumer) really want the 2nd amendment to stand intact? Please. “The check’s in the mail” and “this will only hurt a little”, and so on. Don’t watch their lips Sylvia darling, watch their hands; for what they DO tells the truer story than what they Say, and the two are very different. I’m glad you have a purist, Pollyanna view of these folks though, for Dura Realidad is a heavy cross to bear. Best to leave that to others I suppose.
