Nuisance — Webster’s Dictionary defines it as “something offensive or annoying to the community.” The Upper Room qualifies for this distinction. The CRC realized they were being used in the wrong way and moved on. The Upper Room has become an enabler and therefore has become a public nuisance.
I am sure their hearts are in the right place and well-intended. But this homeless crowd has chosen this lifestyle and don’t want to improve their lot in life.
The City Council needs to act on behalf of the tax-paying property owners to remove this public nuisance. They need to shut down the Upper Room for 60 days before our spring migration.
I must remind the council there is still a separation of church and state. They need to put on their big girl panties on and deal with this ASAP.
