Let’s see how we’re doing here. Picture this; you are on hold listening to scratchy music or worse, a recording extolling the virtues of Obamacare while you wait for authorization from a government gatekeeper for emergent care. Oops, your call got dropped or you hear, “I’m not at my desk now, but if you’ll leave your number, I’ll get back to you next week;” or “This mailbox is full.” Oh joy.
The non-functional Website aside, let’s see how we’re doing with Obamacare.
• “Your health care insurance costs will drop by $2,500.” Negative.
• “If you like your insurance, you can keep it.” Negative.
• “If you like your doctor, you can keep him.” Negative.
• “The ACA Website is fixed.” Negative.
• Premiums up? Check.
• Deductibles up? Check.
• Out-of-pocket copayments up? Check
• Funds scavenged from MediCare for seniors into Obamavare, decreasing coverage for seniors? Check.
• Additional medical device tax? Check (on top of fee-for-services).
How’s this working for ya?
If you’re still sitting there with a smug grin on your face because you still have insurance through your employer, you’re next. The same law that has wreaked carnage on individual health care insurance is headed your way. Obama has unilaterally delayed this part of the train wreck until after the next election to try to salvage the Democrat majority in the Senate, get the majority in the House and save Obamacare.
The next elections are critical for health care and for this whole country. If you have been disconnected from this debacle or have stopped paying any attention to politics and even if you’re not a one-issue voter, get off your butt and get re-registered to vote and show up at the poles this next election and the next. We have to remove anyone who voted for Obamacare (ACA) so that there is some shred of hope to turn this plane-train-boat crash around.
I could drag on about the illegality of Obama manipulating parts of Obamacare (now the law) without Congressional approval and the fact that more and more people are against Obamacare as they are personally stricken with its effects. For the sake of brevity I’ll stop with asking this question. Is this the health care and the political state you want to bequeath your children/grandchildren? We’re talking about lives here.
