Dear Gloria, you may recall that in the 1960's and 70's the police station was on the right side of City hall next to the Court House. The City will tell you now that it doesn't comply with ADA, has security issues, needs remodeling, doesn't have enough parking, no K-9 storage, etc., etc., etc. Since moving out of the old City Hall in and into the new $3 Million digs which was the old El Dorado Savings Bank Building at 3001 Center Street, the City employees have developed much higher standards for themselves and the old digs would never do anymore. Now the City is secretly negotiating to purchase the vacant lot next door to the existing Police/Fire Station to do an expansion which I'm sure will cost taxpayers several million before it is complete. I'm wondering if they will somehow engineer the cost of this into our Sewer fees?
