Parking fine reduced

EDITOR: This is in response to my re-printed parking fine letter.

Upon opening the paper this morning (to see if a couple of letters my husband and I wrote were published}, we were fairly startled to see a reprint of a letter addressing an outrageous parking fine my mom received in the downtown parking garage.

Our city manager and chief of police have addressed our complaint in a polite and gentlemanly way and a refund is being sent to mom. We have been assured that the amount mom had been fined was a one-time mistake. Just wanted to set the record straight. Thanks, folks.

It is a one-time mistake for those who raise a stink. How many times have they collected such a fine without a refund because no one complained? Good for you to make your case public. Civil disobedience is not as common as it needs to be. People who cannot define their rights don't have any.

The fine is typical example of the Carol Patton crowd downtown...establish stupid parking requirements and then hit the people of Placerville with outrageous fees and fines (how about the Sewer/Water increase) to keep the stinking malfeasance of the City government continuing...If you like crooked politicians, Dirty Dave Machado the Felon exMayor of Placerville and good buddy of Carol Patton or failed scams like the Roundabout and Redevelopment, a vote for Carol Patton will fulfill that requirement...

This is a perfect example of how the GOB's take care of their own!!!! I'm kidding I love the Kolb's. I only hope that I live long enough to see Alyse get elected to something.
