Poor Red’s

By From page A5 | December 13, 2013

To District Attorney Vern Pierson:

I have been a resident of El Dorado County for over 45 years, and in the past quite politically active. I have lived in Pollock Pines, Camino and the charming township of El Dorado. Although I have recently remarried and now reside in El Dorado Hills, I have never given up my friends and business neighbors in El Dorado.

The recent and ongoing legal problem regarding Poor Red’s is the reason for this letter. Of course you realize that Poor Red’s is an icon not only in this county, but all over the world. We are extensive travelers and constantly meet people in foreign countries who smile and say “Oh, El Dorado, California? Isn’t that where Poor Red’s is? We always make a special trip there when we are in California.”

We no longer patronize our one-time favorite restaurant and pub. We, and our friends have vowed to never walk through the door while it is under the present ownership of the Adams. Considering the many charges against these people and the great debt owed to various agencies and vendors, it is our hope that your office can make some type of plea deal so that Poor Red’s can be sold to a responsible owner who cares about our community.
