EDITOR:

Let me get this straight (lmgts), our moronic governor and legislature can spend $68 million-plus on a train from nowhere to nowhere and the only areas that can be cut in the budget are education, police and fire unless Prop 30 passes. Lmgts our state parks dept. can hide $54 million and the only areas than can be cut are education, police and fire unless Prop 30 passes. Lmgts our state senate and assembly members can hold a 20-minute session in advance of a 3-day weekend and collect four days per diem at $286 per day and the only areas that can be cut are education, police and fire unless prop 30 passes. Lmgts our ruling class can levy an illegal tax (fire fee) and still have the nerve to try and raise taxes by threatening to cut education, police and fire. It is time to say “No” to these idiots and get a referendum for a part-time legislature.

The real danger is a populace so dumbdown that prop. 30 has a chance of passing. These people are drip fed what to believe with sound bites and talking points by an agenda driven media which has no relationship with the truth. Critical thinking and discernment no longer exist. The best arguement against democracy is a 5 minute conversation with the average voter. Winston Churchill
