Rabid right wing propaganda

EDITOR: Today I set a record: shortest amount of time required to read the “news” in your publication.

If one does not include your Tea Party propaganda and hysteria as news, your paper can be read in a matter of minutes.

Each time I am forced to view this rabid right propaganda I swear that I, like many others I know, will cancel my subscription. But I really like getting information on what is happening in my community. Is there any way I can get your publication without the hysterical rants of the right? Haven’t you heard  your own members say it’s time for the GOP to stop being the Stupid Party.

Here's an idea. The MtDemocrat publishes a sister paper called the MtRepublican which has local news, but without the hysterical rants of the right. Worth a try.

Here's a better idea...Since 95% of today's main-stream media spouts nothing but rabid left-wing propaganda how about our mountain Democrat stays just the way it is....Better yet, maybe the MD should not even give you liberals the chance to even respond or submit your insane liberal letters to the Editor, no liberal posts, no liberal nothing hinted in the Mountain Democrat at all...That would sure cure a lot of headaches and steer our county into a more Conservative direction. .....Perfect!!!....

But RJ and Dee, when I read the left-wing point of view it becomes a daily reminder to me of just how infected our society is with this rodent. So actually reading, seeing and hearing from them keeps me that much stronger in the fight to protect my family and rid our country of the ignorance and pestilence.

R.J., rabid left-wing propaganda as opposed to rabid right-wing propaganda. It's all in the eye of the beholder, isn't it? I'm sorry you don't enjoy my letters to the MtDemocrat, but I do have a duty to mankind so they will continue. Cookie, I see you've taken up the word obtuse -- you can thank Mr. Alger.

I find it interesting how those who want to defend the United States Bill of Rights to keep and bear arms want to abolish the right to Freedom of Speech of some people. Instead of NOT READING what they don't like. I do not read the comments of a few of the people on the forums due to their ignorance and name-calling. If you are not intelligent enough to add to the conversation without resorting to calling your adversaries names, maybe you should go back to kindergarten. Those folks obviously missed some lessons.

James & Terri....For future letters to the Editor may I suggest submitting them to either the Berkeley Voice, the Berkeley Daily Californian, or the The Berkeley Times....That way you will be reaching your desired audience of under-informed, mouth-breathers and bottom-feeders..

R.J., now be nice. As for the Berkeley papers, they undoubted exist but I've never read them. I'm too busy trying to keep the MtDemocrat paper/web site straight (actually I wouldn't read them even if I weren't). And, R.J., you seem to be especially testy this past week. It's not like you, anything wrong? The president's speech?

James, I have also noticed that RJ and the rest of the right wingnuts have recently jacked up their usual rhetoric beyond the normal hysteria. I think the President's speech drove home the reality that they lost, lost big, and are headed for a decline in popularity from which they will not recover. 2016 is already a done deal, and if things really go bad, they will lose the House. If you were in RJ's pointy boots, you would be a might touchy too.

James I have no idea what you and George are talking about....I've been busy and have only been on line a couple times in the last month or so......But, If I seem testy it could be due to Hilliary's "who cares" testimony concerning the slaughter American's in Benghazi or maybe that King Obama handed over a squadron of F-16's and M1 Abrams Battle-tanks to his terrorist buddies in the Muslim Brotherhood..Either way, whatever insane thing the left does next us wingnuts from the right will always be here to make sure you Libs own up to it.

Darron, you should at least read the letter before you comment. She was complaining to the MD and asking for them to censor the material and slant it more to the left. Then you post and claim your opponents want to hinder freedom of speech. You really are big fat dummy. I'll bet my dad could beat up your dad.

Terri, available to you for your listening, viewing and reading pleasure are 10's of thousands of sources that specialize in telling you exclusively what you wish to be told. There is no shortage of kneepad, lapdog, propaganda, agenda driven, leftist media. For someone who is only interested in what they want to be told to call others stupid is quite a stretch.

This is the perfect illustration of the severe limitations associated with the liberal mind. If a liberal doesn't eat meat, they don't want anyone to eat meat. If a liberal doesn't own a gun, they don't want anyone to own a gun. If a liberal doesn't want to see or hear any objective criticism of the failures of liberal policies, they don't want anyone to see or hear any objective criticism of the failures of liberal policies. James, thanks for the unsolicited mention, it's nice to know I occupy your thoughts.

Other than the 1st and 2nd Amendments, which others do want cancelled? This letter makes my top 10 list for the most clueless I have read. If you classify "news" as only being told what you want to hear is it really news? Places like China would appreciate your support of media censorship. Here is a suggestion. Write or record your own "news" and don't expose yourself to anything contradictory. That way you will never have to exercise your brain with thought. Everyone should read this letter a few dozen times, it is what represents the openmindedness and tolerance of liberalism.

It seems thousands of people believe President Obama, being the liberal gun-hating Democrat that he is, plans to bring gun sales to a halt this year. They're determined to stock up before Obama can cut them off. I don't know if that's funny or sad, but it reflects poorly on America's gun-carrying community as a whole.

  • Paste and forward to your Supervisor/CongressmanJanuary 28, 2013 - 9:33 am

Dear Mr./Mrs. (Your Supervisors name here): In light of the increasing frequency of killings throughout the country characterized by the use of assault style/military grade weapons, I am corresponding with you today to urge you to support legislation to put common sense controls on the use of firearms in this country. It is past time for this problem to be addressed and stop the scourge of this type of violence from taking more innocent lives. As an American, I am entirely cognizant of the effects of this type of weaponry. I will state, without qualification, this type of weaponry has no legitimate place within civil society. I firmly believe that the onus of limiting these weapons falls upon you and your fellow elected representatives. I respectfully request that you take the following legislative initiatives; 1) eliminate the gun show and internet loop holes on background checks, 2) eliminate the sale of assault style/military grade weaponry, 3) eliminate the sale of extended clips and speed loading devices, 4) legislate that firearms be registered in the same manner as motor vehicles with comprehensive written and skills demonstration before the issuance of any permits to own and operate firearms, 5) implement the mental health care equivalency provisions of the Affordable Care Act. I firmly believe that these steps will help increase public safety while at the same time respect the Second Amendment right of the nation’s citizenry. As you are aware, the Supreme Court has ruled that no rights are absolute and laws limiting fully automatic weapons and weaponry that launches explosive projectiles have been severely limited within the Second Amendment “umbrella” of the right to bear arms. In conclusion, I hope you will initiate this common sense legislative effort in the next Congress and that with your diligence and constructive effort, we may achieve the safety and security our citizens deserve. Sincerely, (Your name here)

Cookie, you frequently mention the $800 billion stimulus. Do you think that perhaps you could get it right from now on? The stimulus was $787 billion of which $288 billion of that amount was tax breaks. Just over 1/3rd of it went to tax breaks -- I though Tea/Republicans love tax breaks. Any chance you could give out the right numbers the next time you mention the $800 billion stimulus. Ms. Kernan, don't recall that I've used the term stupid when referring to Tea/Republicans. Can you refresh my memory? And no, I've never run a business. Given I enlisted at 17 (later out for four years for college) and then retired after 31 years of active duty, my business was keeping you and El Dorado County safe. And, yes, I do receive government money -- Social Security, military retirement, and VA disability. So, guessing that I get more than you pay in taxes, when you write that next tax check be happy that the entire amount is going to me. As for the specific amounts I'm getting from the government, I'm prepared to reveal the amounts when you tell us all your income and all other financial details. R.J. ask me a direct question and I'll try to answer it. Make it a reasonable question and not a Tea/Republican question and I'll do my best. Oh, and Cookie, after reading your comments over the months I'd like to recognize you as El Dorado County's Cookie Limbaugh. You do know, don't you, that nutso comments do you no credit.

I realize how difficult it is to learn anything regarding the truth about obama's out of control spending from any of the alphabet networks and the absolutely nothing to show for it but it is still happening. http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/obama-continues-violate-his-own-stimulus-law-not-releasing-quarterly-reports_697896.html

Thanks for the endorsement James but I can’t accept. Rush has far too many friends in politics to be honest about the repubs. Even though obama is a new low in American presidents the repubs aren’t much better. If the repubs had won the whitehouse the senate and kept the house in this last election, they would not have eliminated 2/3’s of the federal government likes needs to happen. They wouldn’t have eliminated even one department. Every time the repubs have been in power they have increased spending and expanded government. Which causes me to wonder just how unbalanced the left truly is. If the repubs increase spending (leftism) and expand government (leftism) and the left treats them as if they are inhuman just how far left is the left. And how is it that they truly expect anyone to negotiate or compromise with them?

James. There's a good chance we are carrying more than just you on our backs. We are in private business. Until you've been there, it's tough to come remotely close to understanding how it all works. Obama and the libs are clueless in this area...besides other areas. Worse yet, we lost all that we had in this past economic meltdown (where do I point the blame? Watch "Inside Job"). Big bro could have cared less; we couldn't qualify for any support. Big hurt given the taxes we had paid in. As for "stupid"...you bring it up all the time but use other words.

Millions of people were at the receiving end. In fact, I know few who weren't affected to some degree. A fortunate minority have been protected -- so far. But we all are paying.

Posted just for the heck of it: "Seattle Gun BuyBack Gets JACKED! Turns Into a Damn Gun Show! LOL" - People that had arrived to trade in their weapons for $100 or $200 BuyBack gift cards($100 for handguns, shotguns and rifles, and $200 for assault weapons) soon realized that gun collectors were there and paying top dollar for collectible firearms. So, as the line for the chump cards got longer and longer people began to jump ship and head over to the dealers. But the BuyBack wasn’t a bust. On the contrary – their $80,000 supply of gift cards didn’t last but 2 hours, and by 11:00 am they began attempting to issue IOU’s at which point the entire crowd responded by turning and marching toward the gun dealers, forcing the police officers to pack it up for the day. - HERE

Don't you remember as a kid getting your first BB gun and then a real 22? I've never killed anyone and don't plan to so please don't worry as I am a responsible gun owner.

This is not a blue or a red comment...it is just a question: in response to Evelyn's post about the open trading of guns in Seattle "LOL". Is not ANYONE concerned, regardless of your politics, that ANYONE bought these guns? Without a background check to see if they were a criminal? Without a check to see if they were mentally ill? I think that these are reasonable questions, and MODERATE. I think conservatives and liberal folks should be concerned. It's not about taking away gun rights.
