Sorry to Mr. D’Agostini for the mispelling of his name. I am in total agreement with his letter to Biden. Yes, Biden is a dip, but he will get the message in the letter. I got it and I’m not a brain surgeon. I know the people in the White House will get it too. Thank you, Sir for believing in and fighting for OUR Constitution. It is REAL and was designed by men inspired by, GOD. HE is someone that a lot of us have forgotten. I hope I never do. OUR government is in very bad condition. Agencies, in order for the government to recuit public sector employees, they promise them lifetime taxpayer paid for income and health benny’s. I not going to bother looking up your conclusions. But I will ask what you have against the private sector doing its part to insure law enforcement not only has plenty of people interested in the pursuit of that profession but also those individuals have the proper knowledge, training, familiarity, and access to the tools of the trade? I can’t imagine how the NRA’s positive involvement in law enforcement can be a bad thing. The bad guys don’t have rubberband guns. What has long worried me about those who follow the NRA is that they dont seem to grasp the undeniable truth that the constitutional right to gun ownership is no more absolute as they clearly believe it to be than the freedoms of peaceable assembly, the press, religion, speech or any of the other constitutionally enumerated rights we enjoy.In the case of our 6% sheriff, maybe he just didnt understsand what he was signing.

Richard, it might be less troubling for you if consider that in this country we have 3 separate but equal branches of government. Not just and executive branch. None of them issue us our rights. Any right granted by a government can also be taken away. There are states rights issues that obama has zero regard for. obama is using the act of a mentally deranged individual against little children who have no protection because of liberalism to restrict the 2nd Amendment rights of law abiding citizens. You can’t honestly tell me that the left has just now made gun control a top priority. It has been part of their political ideology for as long as socialized healthcare has. The Sheriff is responsible to the citizens of this county and he took no oath to enforce any executive order that is contrary to the Bill of Rights. Your issue is you have a pre-existing agenda and like all people of your persuasion you don’t care about the rule of law when it comes to achieving your objective.

Counties (in some states, parishes) number in excess of 3,000. Pinning down the precise number is not critical. It is true that Sheriff D’Agostini and others similarly aligned ARE in the minority. Does that PROVE they are wrong? History shows that at pivotal moments in a society the “majority opinion” is usually WRONG. From elsewhere: If the majority was really a legitimate deciding factor in the course of history, then the first American Revolution would have never occurred in the first place. That fight was won by a minority of men and women who knew they were right in the face of a malicious world power structure supported by an ignorant subsection of the populous. Generations to come would be influenced by a small group of people who stood on honor and principle in the face of the tyranny of the “majority”.

The closest number I can find on the number County Sheriffs nation wide is 3,225 documented in 2007; this number may not include the 2% nation wide who are women. It also does not take into consideration the estimated 50 State Marshalls whom perform the same function as the Sheriff. I think it’s safe to say the Sheriff is one of less than 6% of the Sheriffs nation wide who openly oppose gun control.

That’s stupid Roy Hill. So what happens in 10 years, when instead of 2 1/2 million AR-15s in circulation, their 6 or 8 million +. The out-come is easy for the majority of people in our nation to understand: Even the best trained gun owner, experienced veteran and law enforcement offices won’t have a chance if someone wants to gun them down with an AR-15 type weapon. It’s called being OUTGUNNED, Roy, the very thing you want to be RAMBO types say that you don’t want to happen to you. So, RAMBO, where does it stop with increased availability? I can guess your answer Roy Hill, the answer most of your type give, “it’s not my concern. As for your Sheriff, your hero, the one of 198th out of all most 4,000 sheriffs to stand up for the NRA nation wide, I guess he’s blinded by politics. It’s hard to imagine someone in law enforcement who chooses to look the other way when more and more of AR-15 type weapon are being made available.

Question for Sheriff and Mr. Hill: Which part of Pres. Obama’s Executive Order/VP Letter do they object to? #1 Universal Background Checks? (90% say yes, NRA said YES until 2008) #2–Making Mental Health Data available? #3– Help State to meet requirements for “Universal” Background checks? #4 AG looking at the categories (i.e. No-Fly Watch List) of who shouldn’t have a gun? Or maybe you guys don’t like #5–Background check B4 Law Enforcement RETURNS a gun from an investigation? The rest include setting standards and appointing an ATF Director. Maybe that’s what you don’t want…… I wish you two would look at the ATF’s testimony at the FAST & FURIOUS HEARINGS…. These tools would have BLOCKED the guns from going to Mexico….
