Respect for the Cameron Park Board of Directors

EDITOR: At the July Cameron Park CSD Board Meeting Board President Frentzen asked, as she was opening up the open form portion of the meeting to the public, that the people coming to the podium be “respectful.”

Now, while I appreciate most everything that Director Frentzen has tried to accomplish, I have to say that she is out of line this time. I take offense that she would ask the public to give freely to the board that which has to be earned. I understand her concern for decorum and civility at the CSD meetings, but respect is a two-way street and since December of 2010 this board has shown the taxpaying citizens of Cameron Park no respect.

This board has decided that they can ignore the California Government Code and the sections that constitute the Quimby Act, Brown Act and the Public Records Act. This board tried to violate the Quimby Act in the most blatant fashion in the summer of 2011.

This board has tried to stifle public dissent and public participation in meetings. This board has enabled the staff to ignore lawfully registered Public Record Act requests. This board has members who think it is allowed to interrupt members of the public who are speaking with limited time.

This board ignores the CSD policies on open forum. This board has members who will speak during open forum when it suits them and then hide behind the rule that the board is not allowed to address anything brought up in open forum when they don’t want to respond to a question or criticism.

This board has members who have shown contempt for their constituents by playing with cell phones, pretending to read documents or drawing when people are addressing the board. This board has allowed staff to harass and intimidate a group that has a legal binding contact to use the Community Center. Again this board has shown the citizens of Cameron Park no respect so they have earned none in return.

Besides, ripping and tearing at public meetings is a lot more entertaining than civility. Sometimes you get on TV.

Foaming, your point is unclear. Did Mr. Lillpop make any untrue statements?

Respectful meetings are boring. Just a bunch of people acting like adults. Who needs that?

Gerald, although I agree with you re: Shiva, who does not have the tools to lead, I still think your a complete nut-job. The Board has serious work to do and your little group of malcontents continue to attempt to hinder this work. I refuse to believe that you and your group are removed from sanity enough to truly believe that your conduct is appropriate. Its time you take your "uncle festus" personna and the rest of your retarded friends and find some other purpose in your otherwise meaningless lives!
