In the past couple of weeks I’ve seen a lot of unhappy deer along Highway 50. You can tell they are unhappy; legs broken and contorted, a red smear identifying their last place of rest. Odd that so many of them are near El Dorado Road with supposed direct access to the deer undercrossing beneath them.

A question to the wildlife experts and proponents of that project, “What’s your return policy?”

Getting the deer to use the tunnel is more likely than getting the young healthy 20 something's to use

Cookie, I told you how they can get the young 'I will never die' folks to buy insurance. Make the opt out fine the same as the cost of health insurance.

James, a couple of things on your point. #1 consider why the left chose not to exercise that option and #2 I can't think of a better way to educate a bunch of young inexperienced pop culture American Idol worshipping kids that elections have consequences and voting for an empty suit slogan because you got caught up in the frenzy can be very costly. I say bring it on. Make the fine/fee/tax/penalty $250/mo. Lets see who wins the Senate and House in 2014. Getting kids to vote for the assumption of receiving free stuff is a universe away from getting them to pay for someone else's free stuff.

Cookie, you are brilliant! My own young adult child has a $144/month private plan. The similar Obamacare plan would cost over twice that. She's a bit liberal as the result of a California college education, but even she says that "smart people won't sign up. They'll pay the $99/year fine." Only a seriously ill person or one who is going on the dole (that is, getting subsidies so other taxpayers pay for their insurance) is going to sign up for one of the Obamacare plans.

Cookie, getting elected always intrudes on good ideas.

if they had just built a round-about on both sides of 50 the deer would never need to cross the road....they could just walk in circles for awhile then go back home...
