Same meeting – Councilman Carl Hagen is taking off to Washington D.C. to lobby for $40 million to finish building the Ray Lawyer Drive Interchange. The Placerville Streetscape plan is back on the City’s wishlist to lobby Washington for more funds. The Feds are doling out money for roundabouts – that’s why everyone keeps putting them in road plans. So how can they be clearing out the land on the South side of the freeway at Ray Lawyer when they are still working on the plans?

James: Same Roundabout. Agreed — citizens don’t want it. City obviously does. Small things like eminent domain and destruction of local businesses need not concern us. At least, they don’t concern the City.

Are we talking about the roundabout that was previously suggested at the intersection of Main and Cedar Ravine? That intersection has worked wonderfully for years and years. Everyone politely waiting their turn, with no problems that I have ever experienced. So, given it works we must have a roundabout? A waste of money. And, speaking of money, follow the money and find out who benefits from a roundabout that isn’t needed and which will destroy the ambience of Placerville,

Hi Dee: Yes, I saw the Roundabout on Tuesday’s agenda. That was, of course, the same meeting where Mayor Mattson issued a Proclamation favoring the Sacramento Kings on our behalf. I would note that the Kings received from the City of Sacramento approx. $80 million and the Grand Jury found that documents regarding the transaction had been unlawfully withheld. It seems the City of Placerville knows better than the residents of Sacramento who refused to pass two sales tax measures for funding the Kings. But that is Regionalism for you. Local control is being lost by residents. Placerville is no exception.

Perhaps the County’s undercover “spotters” who work in tandem with Animal Control enforcing leash law compliance could help track and bring to heel the maniacs on the road. ‘Cause seriously, folks, the behavior of the jerks mentioned by Corina Poor may pose a greater danger than my recumbent unleashed poodle enjoying the glory of spring in a public space.

Who doesn’t have a cell phone these days? TAKE HIS PICTURE… and the car. If he gets in your face take a video! Verbal assault is a crime, so is harrasment or a verbal threat. Remind him of a trip to jail, you have witnesses.

R.J. ~ If they continue to get away with that kind of stuff with no consequence then it can easily graduate to something more serious. I would of had to track that little sucker down including the driver and introduce them to a few of my teenage grandsons. Dodging deer, dogs and cars is bad enough on a bike but to get shot at…Damn, that must of startled the hell out ya.

Amazing! We’re surrounded by nincompoops. Born/raised in Shingle Springs, moved to Somerset to get away from some of that , but alas, they’re everywhere. They ride your bumper, play music so loud the house vibrates, fly down the road like there are no critters, joggers, pedestrians, bicyclists. And then you see them in the market, they come into your business, break down and need help, run off the road in the snow…..muahhh haaaa and like the old song, you “just walk on by”….. Stick to your guns Corina, try to get a license number if you see them again. There’s more people with you than agin ya!

Several phone calls to the CHP from you and your neighbors with a discription of the car and driver will probably help. They are not used to being disciplined or corrected which is why you got the response you did. They have little to no respect for anyone. The term the leftists used when they outlawed discipline was self esteem. Yes, I can tie all that is wrong in the world to the evils of leftism.

What a pig! Was the MORON in a silver 77? Chevelle SS. I wonder if it was the same guy who yelled at me in downtown Placerville to “Get on the bike trail”. Which is where we were heading and since there is only one road between the two trails, it has to be shared by EVERY vehicle on the road.
