Roundabout vote?

EDITOR:

The Placerville City Council claims that voters voted for the roundabout.

But they won’t tell us when or what was the final vote count?

A strange smell is coming from this.

How about it, Mayor?

Ms. Mayor, what was the vote count?

And, if there was no vote, it means the roundabout is the child of the City Council -- follow the money!!!

Hello James--Im starting to think it wasnt a "community" vote so much as a "committee" vote...think 4 out of 5 dentists like crest...lolol...somewhere a small group said "Yay"...and it went forth...

sorry James--i made a tiny url to the photos...http://tinyurl.com/mdptl99 these photos are from the workshop that had an input to many of the issues now being faced--the roundabout is one of them. (2006)

James--"community" has new definitions to some people...here in Pollock --it means Harper and her CEDAPP group...I will have to look for the Placerville definition of "community." In the links I provided it seems 78 people filled out surveys in 2006 at a workshop--whittle it down to your council--even if its just a few...and you have your vote.

Here in Pollock Santiago said 100 people wanted this advisory board...NOT. Every time I come down the hill--I see more of my "community" actually works at the center where the BOS meetings happen...they have moved from town--I guess--because they no longer come to our meetings. James--I have become "jaded"...I was once a sweet old lady...a grandma....lololol...I guess not--but it was worth a try. I think this is about the grant behind the improvements--is the money spent and cant be given back if they leave the idea alone? Or like many outcomes from the "community groups" they decided and thats that.

It is stated in the final parks and trails master plan--that 9 people showed up to some meeting in Pollock and decided for all of us. Im betting the same thing happened with the roundabout--a "community" didnt know...a select few did--and they voted. Be careful of the word "community'--it has been changed to allow a "few" to decide for a whole--it is now coming out that people went against the brown act and met without "public" knowledge...to move forward with issues up and down the hill. I know I never heard of the Park and trails meeting--yet Harper did--right...lololol. Roundabout is exactly the same--when the community found out--they said "no"--took it to court--another "no." How many "no s" does it take--make these people step down--they represent the whole...and if not--get rid of them.

So, in the end, the public be damned, we will get a roundabout even if the majority doesn't want it. Hopefully, another lawsuit will prevent it.

It's not clear what the real plan is. The grant money *can* be spent without going through with the roundabout, if it is spent on the planning phase where the roundabout remains one of the options, even if it isn't the selected option. I have a hard time believing any politician would sacrifice re-election on the alter of the roundabout...maybe they will delay a final vote until just after one election and hope that the "benefits" of a roundabout are realized before the next election. Again, hard to imagine...

R.J., I also like watching squirrels jumping. In fact, I have a tree that should have been taken down, but it remains because it is a squirrel hotel. Long before I came here and hopefully long after I'm gone. Rational thought -- do you think it only exists in conservatives?

Hey James glad to hear Fred's doing better....You ask if I think rational thought only exists in conservatives?... Yes !!!.. From what I've seen and heard over the last 4 years there's no doubt about it........Furthermore, I predict that Obama will be become so unhinged over the next 3 years that somewhere along the line you will cease trying to defend an administration that is becoming completely indefensible....Anything can happen, James the conservative, imagine that.....

    R. J., rational conservatives do not pursue a policy of being anti against those things that would ensure their survival. Also, despite the Party of No, I think President Obama will do quite well in the next three years and then be replaced by President Clinton. No hope that I will ever be a conservative -- too much time in Army looking out for the troops. Of my four Chihuahuas, Ricky is a conservative (dog eat dog) while the other three, including Mr. Fred of Placerville, are liberals. I keep a close watch on Ricky so he is constrained, as all conservatives should be in the interests of society.

James.....First...Unlike Liberals, rational conservatives will more often pursue policies that put first the survival of our Republic over their own political survival...It's not Conservatives trying to throw open the flood-gates to illegal-aliens just to build up their own voting base......Secondly, Hillary's one and only chance was when she ran for President back in 08...She was at the absolute peak of her popularity back then and still got skunked by an unknown Jr. Senator out of nowhere named Barack Obama... By 2016 she'll be no more than a footnote in history books....Thirdly, you say your Liberal because "you spent so much time in Army looking out for the troops"??????...I only wonder what your ol conservative buddy Lieutenant Colonel, Ollie North would have to say about that....Man, I'd love to ask him....

Lieutenant Colonel North looked out for himself. Credit to you for getting his rank correct. I predict Hillary will be elected president in 2016. Remember, I called the 2012 presidential election when it was 100% certain that Mitt would be elected. No one the Tea/Republicans can nominate for president next time will even be close to 100%, so it's an easy call. Let me give you a little secret about military officers not known to the public. Ten percent look out for the troops, 90% look out for themselves and their next promotion in the best dog eat dog fashion. This might explain why most officers are conservatives. Now, if you respond and say that's not true, go serve 31 years in the military, and then come back to me with your revised opinion. Damn, 31 years -- that's a long time.

Colonel, I like it when you refer to conservative thought as being the "Party of No". As in...NO MORE: Obamacare, tax increases, additional IRS agents, government waste, AP scandals, Solyndras, Fast and fury's, biased media, Candy Crowleys, Benghazi coverups, IRS scandals, big government, Pelosi's, Holder's, Obama's, NO MORE CLINTONS! etc..etc..Clinton is washed up and old business. I think America is tired of old white politicians on either side of the aisle and the polls look like they're tired of a half white/black guy that doesn't know what he's doing while running around in circles blaming everyone else but himself. The beast is a liar with a husband that looked you and American in the face and lied and still got away with it. America deserves much better that an old gay ex-first lady and quitter ex-Secretary of State.. Just like they did with Reagan -- no, wait, in Reagan's case it was go with the old guy. This new plan won't cleanse the sins of Tea/Republicans being against Women, Latinos, Asians, African Americans, Gays, and old folks' Social Security and Medicare. Tea/Republicans are against 80% of the electorate and Hilliary only needs just over 50% to win. Sorry, DB, won't fly.

Three years is an eternity in politics. If you remove the fraud and IRS sponsored voter suppression obama never gets a second term. Which doesn't stand well for the beast because it suggests the people learned from voting for symbolism over substance. Not that I put a lot of sand in the intelligence of the American people. We know she can't run on the 3:00 am phone call. We know she can't run on nationalized healthcare, by 2016 people won't be judging it based on what the leftists media is telling them, they will be living it. Her legacy as Secretary of State is a mushroom cloud waiting to happen. She is trying to set the stage of being all about the "children", where have we heard that before? Here knowledge of economics is the same as all leftists, big government regulation, confiscatory taxation, crony capitalism, redistribution of wealth, class warfare, and insider trading. With less and less people tuning to the leftists media the talking point that the right hates everyone is losing steam. Don't forget the most important point of all, after 8 years of 15% unemployment and skyrocketing costs of living, hope and change may not sell. There is a theory floating around that they are scamming to get Chelsea knocked up for the optics of the beast as a loving and caring grandma. I think I just threw up a little bit in my mouth.

When i was 16 there was a roundabout in Orange Ca. All the kids went to Orange to cruz. Then we called it the circle and the game was to see how many times you could go around. Somebody didn't like that so they assigned a cop to watch and if you went around more than 3 times you got a warning. With 5 or 6 kids in the car they would have to call in and go thru each ones stop records over the radio for all to hear, it was a riot with every standing on the sidewalk waving at everyone driving by going around 20 times cuz the cop was tied up, lol..Then we called it THE CIRCLE JERK..

On Topic: the roundabout is but a microcosm of what is wrong in American politics. Elected officials ruling against the will of the people. Taking it upon themselves to represent their own interests over the people. Stopping the roundabout will solve nothing until the people throw out all the incumbent politicians and quit electing people who have turned politics into a bloodsport. Back Off Topic: James, few people know that more people died in the war between the states from dysentery and decease than in battle. Back On Topic: too may politicians think success is related to spending money. Need is not important. Cost is not important, Bell California was not an exception to what is going on in small town America.

Back to the roundabout. I am waiting for the people to start exercising civil disobedience when it comes to putting politicians and government back in their place as servants of the people and not the other way around. On the day of ground breaking if a couple of hundred people park their cars in the middle of main and cedar ravine, lock them up and walk away you city council might get the hint.

He spoke for almost an hour about his plans for increasing every Native American's present standard of living...0bama was vague about the details, but, he seemed most enthusiastic about his ideas for helping his "Red Brothers and Sisters".....At the conclusion of his speech, the Tribes presented 0bama with a plaque inscribed with his new Indian name, "Walking Eagle"...Proudly, 0bama accepted the plaque and then departed waving to the crowd....A news reporter later asked the group of chiefs how they came to select the Indian name they had given to the President.... The Chiefs explained that "Walking Eagle" is the name given to a bird so full of sh*t it can no longer fly.....LOL

Actually, Cookie, Mrs. Obama said that living in the White House is like a prison, BUT a very nice prison. Nothing about vacations and prisons, to the best of my knowledge and belief (law talk).

R.J., it could be Walking Eagle is an eagle walking because the House of Representatives won't let him fly. What do you think?

James, do you mean when she stops vacationing long enough to enjoy the parties at the whitehouse? I am sure the girls in the audience felt bad for her. They will never see a $30,000 per plate dinner.

Great joke RJ. Hey James tell us all how pelosi and reid or any leftist dim for that matter offered to work with Bush. He gave them everything and they turned Bush bashing into a national sport anyway. When does obama become president and get some responsibility for his actions? Face it James he is an empty suit who speaks well from a teleprompter.

Both Pelosi and Reid and lots of leftist dims offered to work and did work with Bush by voting for the Iraq War authorization and all the Patriot Act thingees. Responsibility for President Obama will come on January 21, 2017.

James, responsibility for President Obama will come on January 21, 2017? Really, Colonel? On January 21, 2017 ‰bama will still be blaming President Bush.

Hey James do you remember when pelosi called $2/gal gas and 5% unemployment a complete failure of the Bush adiminstration? That was leading up to her and reids orchestrated destruction of the economy so the dims could win the whitehouse. Back then it was still the beasts before she got defeated by the very thing she was counting on to win, symbolism over substance. Leftism may not create jobs, wealth or prosperity but nothing comes close to it in creating irony.

James, ten to one, the itinerary dude/dudette who scheduled ‰bama to be in Tanzani simultaneously with President Bush has been dressed down . . . perhaps demoted . . . perhaps terminated . . . possibly even disappeared. This was a scheduling screw up. Bush received an "invitation" to appear with zero. Read the body language. President Bush cowboyed up and "did the right thing."

So moochelle-I have never been proud of my country-obama is now suffering in the most undeserved pampered position in America as a prisoner. There is no end to the entitlement these two people feel. I bet the girls in the audience sure were glad they aren't in her shoes.

Cookie, and how is she a victim? If you refer to the White House prison, many presidents in the past have commented on how they are "confined" in the White House. Going out only under heavy guard and never free to go out alone.

Cookie, Presidents and their wives travel. Never heard any complaints when Bush I, Bush II, Reagan, and Nixon traveled. I think Eisenhower was so tired of visiting exotic places in WWII that he was content to travel to his farm in Gettysburg and the local golf course.

“The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea promises to allow Edward Snowden to continue to leak anything he wants. We will provide him with many of the best top-secret hacking tools available in North Korea,” said a representative from the North Korean military. “We are just so relieved that Snowden has finally found friendly shores,” said Glen Greenwild, the reporter who famously interviewed Edward Snowden in a Hong Kong hotel. Snowden issued a statement written in Spanish, thanking North Korea for their commitment to freedom. http://www.chronicle.su/news/north-korea-grants-asylum-for-snowden/
