Schultz’s accomplishments

This is in response to Richard Boylan, Ph.D.

Ph.D. Boylan, you need to do some serious research on your facts especially when it comes to William E. Schultz and his accomplishments not only as the County Recorder-Clerk, but also as the director of Elections and the interim director of the Veterans Affairs Department. As the Recorder -Clerk he has brought both from a paper file operation to a modern paperless system. While saving filing space, this also provides rapid access for identifuing documents and obtaining the copies required for business.

This has proven to be a extremely user-friendly database and has been continually updated to take advantage of the newest technology available. He has also worked with the Secretary of State’s Office to develop the way for active duty military personnel, forward deployed, to be married by proxy while still deployed.

In the Elections Department he worked, again with the Secretary of State, to develop the system to improve the ability of overseas military to have the opportunity to vote in the election back home with the ballets arriving in time to be counted. He also continues to work on getting the electronic voting machines approved and operational.

As the interim director of the Veterans AfTairs Department, Mr. Schultz has been instrumental in getting the parking lot at the Veterans Memorial Building regraded and surfaced, thus improving the drainage. Lobbying the BOS for an increase in staffing, which has improved the departments ability to support the El Dorado County veterans community. And the most recent outreach project is together in more discharge/separation papers while issuing a Veterans Identification Card. The gathering of these documents will greatly assist the veterans family at the time of greatest need and provide the veteran a means of identification as a veteran.
