Evelyn, I read the article. It notes health insurance companies are making more money. Given that Obamacare mandated uninsured to buy insurance, it seems logical that their profits will increase even more. The article doesn’t connect with the comment “elsewhere someone commented.” Who is someone and where is elsewhere?
And, how does “someone” know the alleged plan is to not cure and kill along the way? Sounds like mini-rant speculation. I will agree with one thing: Lobbyists are everywhere and involved in all things financial.

Richard must have learned the “new math” were spending another trillion we don’t have saves the consumers $1.5 billion. Let me help you with some basics. Nothing the government does saves anyone money. For the simple reason being the government first has to confiscate money from other people before in can spend it to pass rules that cost people even more money. Robert if you want to learn anything you have to break it down to its tiniest components. If you take that approach with the federal government the tiniest component of the government spending is the fact that it costs the taxpayers more to create one copper penny than what it is worth. Robert, being consumed with hate is probably unhealthy.

James E. I am very sorry to hear about your little guy. I hope all goes well tomorrow. On Friday I took my girl in and vet all but told it was time to leet her go, but I couldn’t accept until I was half way home with prescriptions of three different pain medicines for eight pills a day. The poor dog is in pain. So on Monday she goes back to the vets and won’t be coming home. Oh well, so it goes.

Iwo was a tough nut. Twenty-seven Medals of Honor were awarded — 22 to Marines and 5 to sailors. Of those awarded to Marines it was 27% of the 82 awarded to Marines during WWII. I knew a Medal of Union awardee at West Point. As an Army second lieutenant in Vietnam his platoon was pinned down. As his men continued to be killed by three machine gun nests he charged straight ahead and knocked out all three nests killing the machine gunners. He put his life at maximum risk to save his men and it was amazing he wasn’t killed. Heck of a second lieutenant, and the mildest officer I ever knew in service.

Carter,Iwo Jima: Among us here in El Dorado County walked one of the men who helped raised the first flag on Iwo Jima on Feb. 23, 1945. He was a mild manned man, common in appearance, who worked at channel two in Oakland, returning to SLT years ago. When he came to Placerville to be among us he spoke little of the events during WW11, but knowing his background his silence spoke volumes. We were to spend Veterans Day 2007 with him, but he was summoned by the Commandant of the US Marine Corp on behalf of the Marines Heritage Museum to come to Virginia to participate in the signing of an oil painting with the remaining few from that day. The Corps commissioned the painting that depicting the battle of Iwo Jima, the painting hangs in the museum today with his signture among the the survivers. He died shortly after his return and barely a ripple was heard about Ray Jacobs USMC.

I cant help but admit, there are some things that I get about the Tea Party, but mostly, the thinking of tea party members is a confusing mystery to me. I think they need to be called out for their BS: They insist their for free market and less government interference, when they seem to want the government to impose religious and moral ‘values’ on those of us who may not share said values. Don’t talk to me about wanting to pay fewer taxes, while you are supporting Republican handouts to millionaires. In fact, take your stupid costume, your stupid selfish ideas, your racism, and small minded bigotry and just leave, you would be an asset to any third world county. Democrat. As with most bad laws, this could have been stopped in the House but all the “patriots” saluted. In a lot of our current national security lives, I think Osama won (even if we did kill him).

For those out there still unaware of just how bad it’s getting just look up H.R. 347 …Our 1st Amendment was just taken away not long ago as yet another hidden hush bill was quietly pushed thru…. It is now a federal crime & felony to peacefully protest or voice your opinion on any political subject or in the presence of any political party or person…..Punishable by imprisonment!….I’m going to hope this bill was only passed in order to stifle the Occupy Movement, but it seems to casts a wide net over everyone’s freedom of speech since it has silenced everyone’s right to disapprove thru protest……

Robert, big government just keeps pounding away at our basic rights. While we are hard at work making a living and raising our kids, the politicians are hard at work trying to figure out more ways to control our every move. They themselves don’t even abide by or enforce a lot of the current laws that are in effect. They are content in creating more laws on top laws as long as it fits their personal interests. A very small example is that it’s bullsh*t that a person can’t even go to the local store and purchase a 100 Watt incandescent light bulb for the simple right to see. Instead big government and the environmentalist know best for us and tells us we are getting rid of those energy wasting light bulbs even if it means you can’t see as well. Instead the government wants you to purchase the new and improved energy smart bulb that takes for ever to get to operating output so you can see anything. So that my elderly mom can see things at night, I purchased two cases of 100 watt clear incandescent bulbs on the internet before the government intervenes and stops that. We could go on and on with examples but I hope you get the understanding of it.
