Shopping Spree

By From page A7 | August 16, 2013

EDITOR:

Thank you to over 80 El Dorado County volunteers who mentored 70 students for school clothes and shoes at Walmart on Aug. 3. Our success was due to the fantastic volunteers and their support for this annual program. The children, parents and guardians were so appreciative.

Seeing the smiles as the children checked out with their school clothes and backpack made the early morning rise worthwhile. Walmart was a great partner and its early morning staff was terrific.

The Back to School Shopping Spree is one of many programs sponsored by The Salvation Army. All red kettle donations from El Dorado County provide assistance to families residing in the county.

Thank you again for your support and making a difference to so many children in our county.
