Shrine Bowl

By
From page A5 | December 25, 2013 |

EDITOR: I would like to congratulate the young men and women who participated in this year’s Shrine Bowl. The cheerleaders and football players — from Ponderosa, El Dorado, Pioneer and Union Mine high schools — had to sell a lot of tickets for the game (most of these students haven’t started high school yet).

These young men and women did our high schools proud with a 49-47 victory. I would like to thank them for all their hard work; it was not easy for any of them.

I would like to give a special hat’s off to my cousin Shaylyn Yielding and my son Andrue English, you two make me proud. This year’s game was the best game I’ve seen for many years, so keep up the hard work and thank you all.
