Hey George, I feel your pain. I have been complaining to the California Public Utility Commission about the lack of broadband in our area. ATT keeps promising us that it will be here "soon", and that was 8 years ago and they keep promising. The website to file a complaint is : http://www.cpuc.ca.gov/puc/cec/e_complaint/... but it doesn't do any good. The bureaucrats at the CPUC don't care. I guess one to many furlough fridays made them cop a permanent attitude so they won't do their jobs now. My complaint is that broadband access is a basic phone utility service and that by not providing it the phone company monopoly is not doing their job. So far, no one has listened. Maybe if we all keep complaining we can get rid of ATT and get a real phone company in here that is interested in helping its customers live in the 21st century. Dan

George: my neighbors and I are thinking of applying for a "Third-World County" grant from the UN to fix our roads, water system, power and telephone problems. Sound like that might work for you too.

My Verizon service seems to work just fine in the areas you described. Is it not possible to hook up your computer with your phone as a hot spot? Not sure if it is cost effective, I've never checked on those plans, but it should be a possibility.
