Thanks to our poll workers

EDITOR: The voters in El Dorado County owe a great deal of gratitude to the poll workers, both paid and volunteers, who made it possible for our citizens to exercise their right to vote on Election Day.

On televisions we witnessed people standing in lines for six or more hours in other states. This was quite a contrast to our local experience. Here we were able to go to our polling place, walk in the door and be greeted by poll workers who were our neighbors. They made voting a stress free and efficient experience.

We also need to thank all those at the El Dorado County Elections Department who made it easy for a large percent of our citizens to vote early by absentee ballot. Many people were also able to vote early in person at the Elections Department office. Once the polls closed, ballots were tallied and reported in a timely manner with results being reported on the Election Department Website, as well as on local news stations.

This is a perfect example of our tax dollars having been invested wisely and efficiently. Democracy is alive and well in El Dorado County.
