In 2010 the VFW own PAC selected a Democrat as the congressional leader that had achieved the most on behalf of veterans, this so angered the leadership of the National VFW that they dissolved their own PAC. The national Commander wrote: “The VFW’s values and guiding principles aren’t grounded in a desire to participate in partisan policies in political activities.”
