According to the Mountain Democrat, “In 2011 some 114,000 people used the river for rafting generating a minimum of $14 million for the county and approximately $33 million overall.” Sounds pretty good to me.

Mr Schumann’s experience reminds me of what happened to South Carolina beach front property owners back during the Clinton Administration. The EPA (under Carol Brauner???) placed a moratorium on all new beachfront construction until a multi-year “study” could be done to survey the environmental impact to a particular sand dwelling bird. So anyone who owned property could not build their “dream” beach house (which were already code-limited to 1500 sf if I recall correctly), thus rendering the property essentially worthless. But the EPA and Clinton Administration would not “pay out” the property owners via eminent domain because they said they had not taken their property, merely prevented them from building anything on it. That’s a nice sample of Eco-logic for you right there.

Instead of the bashing you should write something that counters what he says, or is it that you aren’t intelligent enough to do that. The only thing I see that you’re doing is showing everyone your extreme hate for anyone that differs from your belief. Show everyone why you think that miners should be banned from the rivers but fishermen and rafters should be allowed, they all cause some harm. One thing I noticed is that there are 3,000,000 fishermen and tens of thousands of rafters and only a handful of dredgers; who is causing the most harm?
