Tunnel vision

EDITOR: I’ll be brief: So the governor and many others want to build a huge new pumping project on the Delta to get more of our water to Southern California. I hope their swimming pools remain full while those of us up here are taking group showers.

Wonder whose brother or relative owns the contract to build the tunnels. You might think it would be cheaper to have all those Southern cities and agricultural megalith farms put in easily built and common methods used by other countries around the world. Desalination is not modern science. "Desalination/distillation is one of mankind's earliest forms of water treatment, and it is still a popular treatment solution throughout the world today. In ancient times, many civilizations used this process on their ships to convert sea water into drinking water. Today, desalination plants are used to convert sea water to drinking water on ships and in many arid regions of the world, and to treat water in other areas that is fouled by natural and unnatural contaminants. Distillation is perhaps the one water treatment technology that most completely reduces the widest range of drinking water contaminants." Desalination: Drink a cup of seawater? - US Geological Survey Guess the MPG vs VIP formula is too heavily balanced toward that Political contract of Greed instead of common sense. California has over well over 800 miles of shoreline and could provide enough water for it's inland agricultural deserts to bring them back to bloom and feed the world, but for the greedy politicians in our government.

We should be asking why the Governor has NOT signed an Executive Order declaring this state in a "Drought" (Schwarzenegger did it twice when conditions weren't this bad.) When a "Drought" is declared, LESS water is released from Northern California's water storage. Have you seen Folsom Lake?

Pat: You are absolutely right about the seriousness of the present/looming state of drought. It requires immediate attention and probably drastic cutbacks in water consumption. This summer could be a nightmare. I hope that large chunks of this county -- and others -- are not reduced to cinders.

I called Sacramento TV News Channel 13/31 about their Folsom Lake reports...... Asked them to call the Governor's office and find out why the state keeps releasing water from Folsom Lake....... Instead of asking the Governor's office..... they Interviewed the San Joaquin Farmers who want the water to keep coming..... and then reported that the City of Folsom was cutting back..... What about the pumping station to the SJV farmers??? ........ why aren't they cutting them back?????...... and why isn't the NEWS MEDIA NOT REPORTING ON IT???? Yes the lake is low...... Why are they still releasing the full amount? Why hasn't the Governor declared us in a drought?????

"and why isn't the NEWS MEDIA NOT REPORTING ON IT????" What news media? Welcome to America dink, we haven't had a "news media" for decades. 99% of the time it serves your purposes. You have to take the good with the bad dink. Oh wait, I got it, it is corporate media run by the evil Koch brothers and that dastardly Murdock guy.

Is Moon Beam on Koch? Oh brother luckily dinky and the democrat central committee that he is a member of can not don't tell the Democrats in charge down there in Sacramento to find out why Moonbeam isn't not talking to dinky? I know he can post in conservative Eldorado county paper and say how incompetent and unresponsive the democrats are...

little tiny dinky writes "why isn't the news media not reporting on it"??? He called 13/31 news to tell them how to report on something. I'll frame my question so that tiny dinky will understand. Why isn't dinky not calling the governor himself? It isn't because dinky's not making any sense or not is he isn't?

OU812.... Called the Governor's office after I talked to the Data People at DWR (That's Department of Water Resources for you OU2) back in September and called again Nov.... both times said "would refer the matter.".... a nice way to say "Buzz off" ..... Unless the media grows a pair.... No one will know the answer...
