I will unleash a dog in this fight for a few reasons. The first is this candidate has already received a very large public retiree pension from the EDH fire dept. As I understand it Moonbeam has put in new rules that double-dipper wanna-be's already in PERS are restricted so that they can't have a huge PERS retirement and a new full time Govt. job, it is now one or the other, state can't afford both, hence the end of the double-dippers, I hope. I would ask this candidate to have the non-management fire employees he used to work with here in this county vote a vote of confidence or no confidence in him, as the last I remember, he didn't seem to have a lot of support, if any, from former fire dept. employees who worked with him for many years.

Hey Ken, you didn't need to tell us that you weren't from here. Those of us who have been withnessing the flatlander invasion all of our lives knew it by your first sentence. I do love it when leftists try to pretend not to be leftists. How many times have you voted for pelosi?

Ken, it's obvious you must be speaking of a different Brian Veerkamp than the one I know. Are you on medication? What you describe as arrogance and "plenty money" is a life long resident of El Dorado County, he grew up here, went to school here, raised his children here, was employed here, and retired here. Is that a bad thing? Being a person truly willing to give back to his community Brian has pledged not to be compensated for his work while sitting on the Board of Supervisors. That saves the tax payers about 100k yearly. Is that a bad thing? Have you even taken the time to meet Brian? I've never seen a hint of the qualities you describe in your letter from Brian.

Hmmm.... Mr. Chengian is a recently(?) relocated, no growth, tea party attendee who wants his "rural lifestyle" preserved and who is incapable of writing a support letter. Terrific. Boy, we need to recruit a few more of the civility lacking, "I am right, thus you are wrong", close the door behind me types to this county. That will help....

KEN CHENGIAN doesn't like Brian Veerkamp's "stance" or his "demeanor". But what about the actual CONTENT of Veerkamp's presentation? Let's see now. Joe Biden's positions on such as Israel, Obamacare and a national rail system are known. But such matters wouldn't have arisen at the Tea Party meeting. Nor would candidates for supervisor have commented on ANY matters normally dealt with in the national arena. Perhaps Mr. Chengian could tell us one or two of the points Mr. Veerkamp made that lead to the Joe Biden comparison.

KEN CHENGIAN- Thank you for recognizing and pointing out one of Brian’s greatest character strengths in acknowledging the fact that Brian has “hung around this county for a while.” Brian “hung around” while I witnessed many of my county natives, friends and family flee to Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and Colorado in the face of the invasion of flatlanders who lacked the strength of character to stay in “Pelosi-land”, serve on flatlander school boards, join flatlander service organizations such as Rotary and Lions and make the flatlands better places to live. While Brian was occupied serving his community and getting “plenty money” other people were busy building the infrastructure and home pads for people of lesser character – Pelosi-land refugees. It is entirely possible that Brian’s brother, Doug, leveled the home pad upon which you found refuge, Ken. I hope that Doug’s next construction project is a huge draw bridge/fence to stem the flow of Pelosi-land refugees before I weaken and flee. Hypocrisy stinks.
