Wake up and vote

EDITOR:

If you have a weak stomach, read no further.

When I was a child, my Dad told me about a practice he attributed to Native Americans. When a dog developed a taste for chicken and was ravaging the flock, one of the dead chickens was securely tied around the dog’s neck and left there until it rotted off. Needless to say, this practice was highly repulsive to those around the dog while he learned his lesson, but the tale goes that the dog lost his taste for the chicken after the bird continued to putrefy.

Congress has a nasty habit of passing bills that have consequences such as the cost, that are not realized by the public until years after those politicians are out of office and can’t be held accountable. Another dirty practice is threats of cutting essential services (fire, EMS and police) while refusing to cut non-essentials, all the while gleefully continuing to rape taxpayers. The most recent blatant practice is promising “gifts” for votes. Can you say Obama-phone? This practice is not new, but was raised to a highly visible art form in in the last election. Then there is kneecapping legislators who persisted in not voting for Obamacare until they wore down and passed it. This, in spite of the fact that some 62 percent of Americans were against it. By the way, fewer Americans like it every day as the details are being fleshed out (remember Pelosi’s famous “We have to pass it to find out what’s in it”).

Then there is the absolute refusal to cut government jobs while millions of time-favorite, misrepresenting budget decreases in proposed spending as “cuts” when they are actually only decreases in the proposed expansion, not cuts. If private businesses conducted practices like these, they’d be in prison and worse, Congress and Obama are aided and abetted by the press.

There are not a few analyses that point to massive, flagrantly bloated and even deleterious spending that goes unchecked. Unlike most of the e-mail pieces you may have received listing these sacred cows, if you are not familiar with some of this graft, there is a book written years ago called “Government Waste A to Z” by Martin Gross. If even half of his compendium is true (and he cites his sources so you can check) we could balance budgets and reduce deficits, not in the 10 or 20-year time Congress loves to use, but more immediately. I’m sure we could turn the average housewife loose with a red pen and she could do the job. (No slight intended.)

All this is capped off by no budget, I believe since 2009, then continuing resolutions, quantitative easing, the fiscal cliff, another failed budget deadline, the sequester and now we’re looking at another continuing resolution. It’s true that some of these chicken-hearted practices were brought on by individuals who are no longer in Congress and the White House, but it’s about time someone had the chicken tied around their neck so that present and future politicians lose their taste for eating our young. You see, when the medias stuffs their microphones in the face of the predicted casualties of proposed cuts, their pleas play better than those of the beleaguered property owner or wage earner actually picking up the tab for the costs.

Unemployed people, people grappling with onerous property taxes and the added MADS and SADS on their property bill (and don’t forget the latest “fee”) combined with the infinite number of hidden taxes some estimate we are losing as much as 60 percent of our personal income to the government. By the way, weren’t you happy to find you were in the class of “the rich” when your income taxes went up the first of this year?

If you’re one of the people who has given up and quit voting because you feel the futility of it, that choice no longer just affects you. We can no longer justify feeling defeated or indifferent because it’s not just affecting us, they are now raping our children and grandchildren. Our giving up will cost their future. I am ashamed to look at my children and in the faces of my grandchildren and know what we are leaving for them. The current policies will forever change the very basal essence and livelihood of the United States. We have only to look at history to see that this direction leads to oppression and downfall, not prosperity.

If you have any recollection of the principles that founded our country, wake up! Please wake up and start keeping track of the voting records of your state and national politicians and vote accordingly. With the Internet this is now easy to do. It’s the only way we can combat the increasing number of what’s-in-it-for-me voters. I used to blame Obama, but then I heard someone say, “It’s not Obama we have to fear, it’s the people who voted for him.” Worse, it’s not just Obama, it’s Pelosi, Reed, and the list goes on and on.

"Doctors increasingly declaring bankruptcy as Obamacare kicks in, causing widespread care shortages" - HERE ********** I know an ophthalmologist who has been forced out of practice. And then there all the doctors who are becoming "hospatalists".

there is not such thing as obamaphones except in the mind of wingnuts who hate president obama just for being president obama. the fcc lifeline program began in 1984 under the reagan administration, expanded in 1996 under the clinton administration and in 2008 under the george w. bush administration began including cell phones in the program. it covers monthly discounts for landlines and cell phones for those eligible. it is not paid for by taxpayer money; it is paid for by the universal service fund. the usf receives money from telecommunication companies who may or may not pass that on to subscribers. go to snopes.com for details on the obamaphone lie.

wingnuts are people who refuse to believe facts. tin foil people are those who believe wearing aluminum foil on your head can protect you from aliens in space. too bad tin foil doesn't protect us from wing nuts.

The Universal Service Fund is collected by cell phone providers and is hidden in the fine print of the monthly bill. It is done so at the specific direction of the government. The funds are given to the government and spent by the government. And you say it isn't a tax or a government funded program. I'm guessing you never played "connect the dots" as a kid...

jack, the fcc's universal service fund is collected by cell phone providers who may choose to pass the cost on to the provider. the united states government nor the fcc does not tell providers how to collect it. it is not a tax. and again, it has nothing to do with president obama except that he is (thank God) the president of all citizens in these united states. my point is that those who call this program obamaphones are not telling the truth.

http://goldcountryconsortium.wordpress.com/ This is the group that came up to Pollock...about 40 were there...not all at once...our community was not there. Anna did a nice set up for lunch and dessert. Harper was there. It ran from 10:00 to 3:00 our host was surprised that more didnt attend. (shrug of the shoulder) Harper doesnt really invite the whole community...the only reason I knew is that im following different groups on-line.

There was a bridge that collapsed yesterday on I-5 in northern Washington. obama spent 1,000 billion dollars making sure the public sector and the unions didn’t feel the pinch of pelosi and reid’s economic meltdown that has effected everyone in the private sector. Of course he convinced the room temperature IQ voters like kgg that the money was going to jobs and infrastructure. A large percentage of that 1,000 billion dollars went straight to the dnc thru union dues and campaign contributions which is just another way the left steals from the taxpayers. There is nothing about liberalism, leftism, socialism, communism, marxism, progressivism that improves life, liberty, prosperity, freedom, opportunity, ambition, the standard of living or anything else. It has to be broken before it can be fixed. Look at kgg’s comments for an example of how difficult it is the get the blind to see. There is a single motivation with such individuals. And that motivation is entitlement to what other people earn. To them nothing else matters. As long as there is the hope of even more redistribution of wealth nothing else matters. We have very few anti-leftists in public office to combat the European socialist direction the country is heading in. Even with obamacare they are incapable of communicating in a clear fashion just how unconstitutional it is. So the entire nation will suffer due to another leftists takeover of our country. Look at what they have done to public education for a peak at the future of healthcare in America under obamacare. If the left does to healthcare what they have done to public education we won’t have to worry about the planet being overpopulated. We will always have people too stupid to be allowed to vote but they will vote. So our best hope is the suffering under leftists idiocy will be what wakes up the masses and causes them to choose freedom over government scraps.

"obama spent 1,000 billion dollars making sure the public sector and the unions didn’t feel the pinch of pelosi and reid’s economic meltdown that has effected everyone in the private sector." last time i checked, 1,000 billon dollars equals 1 trillon dollars. check the facts; not wingnut ravings. the public sector and unions did not receive a trillion dollars. ps - it's "affected" not "effected".

kgg has not a single clue what happened with the stimulus. When the letter writer wishes for people to "wake up" this is what they need to understand. Plato said, " "One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors." kgg is the perfect example of Plato's point. You can bet kgg votes, and votes early and often.

PNB, You seriously need to stop watching MSNBC then you might find out what's really happening on earth. MSNBC with Chris Matthews, Al Sharpton and others are a joke and are always in denial of any truth. CNN will usually get around to reporting on important issues when their backs are against the wall and then they try to save some credibility but not before FOX News has already been all over it. C Span 1&2 would be good for you too along with some good talk radio. Try something different, relax then pull your head out of your butt hole and you may learn something.

LINK - How a high school band triumphed over a bureaucracy and union that tried to kill it~~~~But for the teacher's union it was a matter of revenge, not against the band or its director, but against the school superintendent who had presided over teacher layoffs forced by the economic downturn in recent years. The band itself was nearly a casualty of the bad economy, but the school superintendent, Jeff Davis, made it possible for it to survive by allowing an unpaid volunteer to teach it.~~~

Wow, Fox news huh? That's original. I have never heard that one before. "Anyone with brains"? Twits like you are stuck on stupid. You can always tell which of the lockstep, braindead, groupthink, mental midgets, are hopeless. PNB, you are hopeless. Nothing is sadder than an individual who forgoes the freedom of thought for just being told what to believe. Just another surviving brain donor who's entire existence is based on being entitled to what other people earn. If we apply the Marxist theory of 'from those according to the means, to those according to their need' to intelligence, I would owe you half my brain. Being a fool is worse than being stupid, because volition is involved in being a fool. What a fool believes? That obama knew nothing of major decisions made at the State department, the IRS, the DOJ, the EPA, yet he is the most astute policy wonk ever elected. Envy over other peoples money makes you blind.

PNB, have you heard from your leftists media that some rather large unions are calling obama a LIAR over his claims on obamacare and are now calling for it to be repealed? I couldn't tell you if Fox has mentioned it since I don't watch any media. I have a little tool known as the internet. You should look into it. It gives you access to billions and billions of bits of information. The one thing it can't do for you is give you some imagination, intellectual curiosity, critical thinking skills, discernment and an ability to think for yourself. Good thing for you none of those abilities are pre-requisites for enlightenment.

In order to believe obama had no involvement or foreknowledge in the IRS targeting of groups opposed to the leftists takeover of OUR country you have to ignore a lot of FACTS. Fact 1. The teaparty is blamed by the braindead left for handing the dems record losses in 2010. Fact 2. obama’s agenda is seriously threatened by those who support the Constituion. Fact 3. harry reid was about to be removed from office. Fact 4. Short of vote fraud obama was not going to be re-elected. Fact 5. The IRS is full of lifetime political activists. Fact 6. Government activism is the reason leftists go to work and get advanced in the federal government. Fact 6. The union which represents the IRS employees is a major contributor to obama and the left. Fact 7. The union workers support union causes. Fact 8. The advancement of leftism is truly the only motive of these people. Fact 9. Historically, leftism advances by silencing opposition. Fact 10. The power of the federal government is what all leftists gravitate towards as the means of imposing their religion of everyone else. Fact 11. Those who worship the expansion of government were targeting who? Those who support limited government. Fact 12. The only way the dems were going to have a chance at winning in 2012 was to restrict, silence, harass and intimidate grass roots Americans who oppose their agenda. Fact 13. The lefts hatred for freedom and liberty are the determining factor in every action they take. Fact 14. The patriotic uprising of the American people could not be allowed to continue if obama was to “transform” this country. Fact 15. Former Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Doug Shulman visited the White House 118 times between 2010 and 2011. Fact 16. “For me, it’s about collaboration.” — National Treasury Employees Union (and regular guest at the Whitehouse) President Colleen Kelley on the relationship between the anti-Tea Party IRS union and the Obama White House

PNB and kgg share the identical groupthink of every subject which renders one of them completely unnecessary and useless. The only thing that possibly separates them is whatever cord of human indecency does obama strike with them as individuals. Is it the gigantic CHIP on their shoulder, their demented dream of socialism or their adversity to taking responsibility for themselves. It is probably all of the above. The problem with PNB's suggestion that it can find alternative media on the internet to what it prefers to be told is the fact that if it isn't what it wants to be told it must be lies. You need to understand something about all the people who you regard as enemies, they can recite all the nonsense you have been trained to believe as well as you they just saw it for what it is. They also pay for everything you take for granted.

Oh yes, the leftist "compassion". Confiscation in disguise. Legalized theft. Redistribution of wealth. Do you ever look at the RESULTS of leftist compassion? People living trapped in abject poverty fully dependent on the federal government as nothing more than "soft" slavery. You exposed yourself just as I described you in one of my earlier posts. From 7:23 am " Nothing is sadder than an individual who forgoes the freedom of thought for just being told what to believe. Just another surviving brain donor who's entire existence is based on being entitled to what other people earn." Do you know what part of an individuals paycheck is their 'fairshare'? ALL OF IT!!!

It would save a lot of time and money and finally show the LEFT what is really going on in the OBAMA Administration. That is if the LEFT even cares.

The leftists websites that feed you the horsesh*t you believe like to anchor themselves to the idea that Thomas Jefferson was a liberal. I know you have seen it many times and probably repeated yourself over and over again. Do you know what Thomas Jefferson said about your "compassion"? "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."

2cor 3:10. "If a man will not work, he shall not eat." Show me the socialism in that? When Jesus talked about the "poor" he never said stealing from those who provide for themselves was the means to provide for them. When He fed the 5,000 he didn't steal the fish and bread from anyone. "Thou shalt not steal" is a recognition of PRIVATE PROPERTY RIGHTS. Something leftists have no use for. You are dead wrong on so many levels it is very likely that no amount of explanation would help you. Here is one example for you to chew on. The wealth that is confiscated from working citizens goes to feed over bloated government agencies and the poor get what ever is left over. But my suspicion is you feed from one of those overbloated government agencies. The poor in America have it 100 times better than all the other poor around the world. So good in fact that they never grow the ambition to escape it. When leftists talk about "compassion" they are always talking about the good they do with other peoples money.

Attempting to use your ignorance of Jesus as some kind of excuse for government theft is just another example of you being told what to believe. Do you know what Jesus said about the poor? He said "the poor will ALWAYS be with you". Do you know why he said that? He was making a point about human nature. There will always be those who are satisfied with surviving on crumbs and dumpster diving and no working person should ever be punished for those types of people. In this country you are free to live in a house on the beach or the dumpster of your choosing, regardless of your background. No one owes you anything. You do make my point. The foundation of all leftism is the redistribution of wealth. It is the single motive behind the election of obama. The braindead lemmings were lead to believe he was going to be very generous with other peoples money.
