In the Mountain Democrat article entitled “El Dorado Disposal talks trash to BOS” printed June 4, 2012, it was stated that “the company provides rolling carts to residential and commercial customers at no cost. And getting the public to use the carts rather than older style cans is significant.”
We immediately contacted the company to request a rolling cart, and we were told that the company only supplied these carts at no extra cost to the “cities” of El Dorado Hills, Cameron Park and Placerville. For an extra charge they supply the large rolling cart, but do supply any carts at no cost to the “outlying areas.”
The person who answered our call said that other calls had been received, so we fully expected to see a retraction or explanation, but that has not occurred.
We would appreciate a follow-up article that explains the difference in services to the various areas of the county.
