EDITOR:
I am one of the coordinators of the Welcome Home Slow Ride. I want to thank all whom participated in the event. It was very heartwarming to see folks standing by as we passed. It was also very rewarding to see folks join in as we passed. A special shout out to the El Dorado Marching Band whose enthusiasm was most heartwarming. A special thank you to reporter Wendy Schultz for writing an amazing article which captured the essence of the Welcome Home Slow Ride. A special thank you to my fellow coordinators without your support and help It would not have been as spectacular. I would be remiss if I did not mention the support of our Board of Supervisors and their help in promoting the event. I am also very thankful for the support of Station 17 in Pollock Pines. Standing as we passed was a memorable moment. I also want to commend all the people whom as we passed by on the road showed their patriotism and respect for our treasure. A special thank you to the veterans organization: Thank you for showing up and thank you for all that you do and have done. The next Welcome Home El Dorado Slow Ride is scheduled for the third Saturday in September; next year will be on the 21st. The route and time will be the same. So please mark your calenders to participate and Welcome Home our Treasure.
