Western Slope Animal Shelter

By From page A5 | July 17, 2013

EDITOR:

Here we go again. The Planning Department continues to insist that people who reside within 100 feet of the selected new animal shelter site are told, “don’t worry about it.” Others have written about the negative impacts so I will not comment on the multitude of them.

I concede that a new animal shelter is in need and I wish PAWED well. Keep in mind, the county bought land in El Dorado for this purpose — what happened? An alternate location could be the empty land at the old Union Mine.

It is time that a county agency pays attention to the people they work for. I do not want the animal shelter smell to mix with the smell of my barbecue.
