MIKE BAMBER lost his two-bedroom modular home in the Sand Fire, but he was back July 31 with new lumber, new work gloves and new tools. Saved from the fire was his family crest, some military airplane commemorative plates and his pet peacock. Lost were his Vietnam medals, father's photographs and his collection of stamps and coins.
