THE WAGON TRAIN's lead double wagon pulled by eight horses makes its way up Echo Summit Monday for the 65th year, heading for Strawberry Lodge. Thursday there will be a public welcome and barbecue at Fresh Pond. Friday it will travel through Pollock Pines, which has a spaghetti dinner planned. It will spend the night at High Hill Ranch for an evening of live music and cowboy poetry. Saturday, the Wagon Train will roll through Main Street, Placerville, and events will take place on Broadway, downtown and Placerville Drive. Democrat photos by Krysten Kellum
