An accident on Nov. 9 on Barkley Road in Camino claimed the lives of two Placerville men.

Trent Wanta, 23, was driving his 2001 Toyota Echo westbound on Barkley Road at 7:10 p.m. with Cody Clevland, 24, as his passenger, a CHP report stated.

Driving at an unknown rate of speed, Wanta failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway, hitting a tree stump and causing the car to go airborne. The car rotated counter-clockwise in the air and struck a large redwood tree on the passenger’s side of the car. Both men suffered fatal injuries from the collision.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation, the report stated.

they weren't drunk. Both were good guys, one a local, and the driver a father and husband. why do people judge this is crap. this was a tragic accident.

EXTREAMLY horable event for the friends and family ..... Seems like any human with any respect or dignity would leave the matter alone or simply send condolences , theses people are going through enough and prob don't need strangers commenting on something so personal to them while you drink your morning coffee then go on with your day. Basically would like to say send your prayers or mind your oun business , pretty disrespectfull to have your little argument

Trent and Cody...you both will be missed...and with all the love and support the families hve received it's clear you two were loved very much...I've known Trent for 8 years and sadly only met Cody a handful of times...but I know they will be missed by many.
