A fatal accident occurred Aug. 3 on South Shingle Drive in Shingle Springs.
At 11:05 p.m., a 1990 Toyota pickup truck was heading southbound on South Shingle Road north of El Camino at an “unknown high rate of speed,” said CHP Officer Dan Stark. While trying to go around a curve, the driver lost control and went off the east edge of the road, striking a tree, Stark said.
The driver, Thomas Boberg, 30, of Shingle Springs, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car, sustaining fatal injuries, Stark said. “Sobriety is not known and currently under investigation,” Stark said.
