An alleged attempted murderer received a new court date in a quick hearing Monday afternoon.

Dylan Rogers appeared out of custody with his attorney Mark Ralphs. Ralphs requested that the case be continued to Feb. 10 at 1 p.m. for a pre-preliminary hearing, vacating a Jan. 15 hearing. Judge Douglas C. Phimister granted the continuance and the hearing ended.

Two victims were walking along the sidewalk in front of the Gold Country Motel on Broadway in Placerville on the afternoon of Dec. 27 when they were approached by a white dual cab truck. According to Lt. Kim Nida of the Placerville Police Department, the victims and the driver knew each other and the victims approached the passenger-side door. Inside, they saw a second person in the car in the back of the cab, allegedly Rogers, leaning back with a gun. The second victim ran and Rogers allegedly fired a single shot. Rogers has been charged with attempted homicide.
