A man has been arrested in connection with the attempted homicide in front of the Gold Country Motel that occurred on Dec. 27.

Placerville Police Department announced on Saturday that Dylan Rogers, 23, of Diamond Springs, was arrested on a warrant, issued on Dec. 27, for alleged attempted homicide.

Rogers is being held without bail in the county jail.

Two victims were walking along the sidewalk in front of the motel Friday afternoon when they were approached by a white dual cab truck. According to Lt. Kim Nida, the victims and the driver knew each other and the victims approached the passenger-side door. Inside, they saw a second person in the car, in the back of the cab, leaning back with a gun. The second victim ran and a single shot was fired.
