Bench removed from park to discourage loitering

By From page A3 | February 26, 2014

A bench in the little park behind the Ivy House parking lot was removed at the request of Placerville Police Chief Scott Heller, said Placerville Community Services Director, Steve Youel.

“There had been complaints about loitering from local merchants, ” said Youel, “and the bench was removed at Chief Heller’s request to discourage people from loitering in the area.”

Complaints have surfaced at Placerville City Council meetings from residents for several years as drug paraphernalia and other litter was found at the park.
