Subsequent to the rejection of El Dorado County’s request to remove the railroad tracks, P&SVRR has been working within the directives of the Board of Supervisors to “..consider if there are other alternatives to removing the tracks” and to develop “..the short-term use of the segments of the entire corridor.”
To that end, P&SVRR will be asking the supervisors for permission to resume the group’s popular “Latrobe Breakfast Special,” a once monthly excursion bringing passengers to the pancake breakfast fundraiser held in Latrobe on the last Sunday of each month. The county has asked that this proposal be heard first by the Parks and Recreation Commission, allowing the commission to make a recommendation to the board.
“Placerville & Sacramento Valley Railroad strongly encourages the public to attend this important meeting, giving their input into the direction the County takes in the development of this historic railroad corridor,” said Jim Harville of the P&SVRR.
