At 2:36 p.m., a big rig fire was reported in Kyburz near White Hall on Highway 50, said Teri Mizuhara of Cal Fire. The big rig was carrying a carnival ride and was fully involved. CHP subsequently shut down Highway 50 “for a period of time,” Mizuhara said.
The release of the U.S. Forest Service water tender, signaling the fire had been contained, was at 6:10 p.m., Mizuhara said.
Cal Fire, El Dorado County Fire, CHP and the USFS responded to the fire.
