Bradleys showcase work at Iron Willow Gallery on 3rd Saturday Art Walk

Iron Willow has some special treats in store for this month’s Art Walk. The gallery is excited to welcome back to town the artistic husband and wife team of Gloria and Bud Bradley. The Bradleys were longtime residents of El Dorado County and  recently moved to Southern California to be closer to family. When they left the area, they continued to show their art at Iron Willow Gallery. Patrons love Gloria’s sculpture pieces and Bud’s photography.

Gloria has garnered numerous awards for her figurative sculptures, which run the gamut from the beauty of ballet to the strength and grandeur of the American Indian and the buffalo, to the strikingly uncomplicated task of the African goatherd, and finally, her fabulous portraits. Her ability to capture her subject’s physical appearance along with its persona has earned her many commissions for private portraits in sculptural form. Gloria utilizes the “Lost Wax” process for her bronze work and she also creates her images in “Cold Cast Resin” for an affordable sculpture anyone would love.

In the early days of his photography career, much of Bud’s work was landscape, but when he was introduced to macro-photography his work began capturing the inner world of nature’s microscopic theater. He then went on to expand his vistas and started telling stories with portraiture. Bud has several great pieces of photographic art on display at the gallery.

In addition to the Bradleys, the Gold Country Bonsai Club will be showcasing some of its prime specimens from 6 to 9 p.m. It will also have trees available for purchase that evening. The club was founded to assist its members in learning the art of bonsai. It is a working club; a hands-on participatory interaction with bonsai enthusiasts and novices. It meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the El Dorado County Senior Center in Placerville located at 937 Spring Street.

Membership is open to anyone interested in the art of bonsai. The club has special programs for beginners and offers a wide variety of programs and activities for all level of bonsai skills.

The mission of the Gold Country Bonsai Club is to share skills and grow interest and pleasure in the art of bonsai throughout the Sierra foothills, including El Dorado County, Sacramento, Folsom, Placer and Amador counties.

For more information contact Iron Willow Gallery at 530-621-4799. It is located at 440 Main Street in Historic Downtown Placerville.

We can consider a weeding album like an art. We have clicked the pictures, edited them, designed them and made a memorable masterpiece out of our wedding photos. The last step would be sharing our well-designed new age iPad wedding album with friends and families.
