About four years ago, my wife and I stayed in the Cary House. One thing I remember is that there was a ghost hunting group there as we arrived, rather late at about 9:30pm or 10:00pm, and I distinctly heard one of the ladies on the team talking into her phone and saying something to the effect of; “Get another team in here NOW, I’ve got activity….” The next day, one of the attendants at the front desk said she’d heard one of the investigators had reported a ceiling lamp swinging in an odd manner.

I don’t think the Cary House was built in 1847, before gold was discovered in Coloma.
