Candidates presented by LWV

The League of Women Voters of El Dorado County would like to remind county voters of their chance to hear and submit questions to candidates for Board of Supervisors District 3 and Superior Court Judge at the Main Library on Sept. 20 at 6:30 p.m.

On Oct. 1, voters can hear and submit questions to the candidates for City Council of Placerville at Town Hall at 7 p.m.

On Oct. 15, voters can hear and submit questions to the candidates for the El Dorado Hills Community Services District at the Pavilion at 6:30 p.m.

At the Gold Trails Grange on Sept. 26 at 7:30  p.m. there will be a presentation of the reasons for the League’s support of specific Propositions on the November ballot and a short discussion about those the League recommends voting against. Dinner is at 6:30 p.m. and the public is invited to attend.

  1. A non, non-partisan group says:

‘The League of Women Voters’ always claim “we’re non-partisan..”. Well check out their bumper stickers at the next event. They’re all in Leagues with Obama. Ask them who they’ve personally voted for over the last 8 or so Presidential elections. Never view them the same way again. They do good work. They’re just not as innocent as they’d like you to believe.

  2. Evelyn Veerkamp says:

To N,N-PG: Whatever members’ personal political preferences, the League’s conduct of voter forums is scrupulously non-partisan. After checking out their bumper stickers, come inside and see for yourself.

  3. Roberta Simons says:

Correct Evelyn. The LWV provides an unbiased forum. That is all. I guess the first writer thinks the members should not be allowed to vote for their personal candidates of choice (unless they are republicans)
