Care packages for troops need public’s help

By From page A2 | March 8, 2011

Support 4 Soldiers, a ministry of the Assist Local Foundation located in Folsom, with the support of numerous local churches, area businesses and families are looking forward to once again showing appreciation of our soldiers serving overseas. It is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to reminding servicemen and women that the public hasn’t forgotten their daily sacrifices for our country.

One way to accomplish that goal is with care packages, which often contain items that soldiers find difficult to acquire overseas. Support 4 Soldiers also provides their “special requests” whenever possible. The feedback received is heartwarming, according to the organization’s members.

In mid June Support 4 Soldiers will send off its next shipment to help troops celebrate Independence Day.

For more information about how to get involved as a volunteer, to donate Wish List items, make a financial donation, or to provide a soldier’s name to receive a care package, contact Support 4 Soldiers. Contact Carol Canfield at [email protected] or call 916-983-8840.
