Charges dropped against alleged robber

After being arrested for alleged robbery, making criminal threats and obstructing justice, Joshua Connolly, 34, has been released from jail and charges have been dropped.

District Attorney Vern Pierson confirmed that charges against the man, who had been arrested on Sept. 15, had been dropped.

“Placerville Police Department did what appears to be a thorough and complete investigation, and (dropping the charges) is the appropriate action at this time,” he said.

Connolly had been held on $130,000 bail but was released on Sept. 18..

    Not to be too inquisitive, but what did the Police Department investigation reveal? Was Mr. Connolly in Alaska during the alleged crimes, or were their other reasons all charges have been dropped? This story is not fully formed.

    James E. – Unfortunately, this was all I was able to get on record from either the DA’s office or from PPD. They won’t reveal why the charges were dropped, just that they were. Regardless, we felt this an important update to the matter.

    Gosh, another classified investigation that the ‘little people’ aren’t allowed to see. Wonder, wonder why?
