The California Highway Patrol’s Placerville office will be holding toy drive events on Dec. 8 and 15 on Missouri Flat Road.
Dec. 8 will see the CHP outside of Kmart on Missouri Flat Road collecting toys for disadvantaged and needy children in El Dorado County, said CHP Officer Quinn Cuthbertson. A cruiser will be there from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. On Dec. 15, a CHP cruiser will be at the Wal-Mart on Missouri Flat Road from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., again collecting toys to give as presents.
The CHP is looking for “new, unwrapped toys to benefit disadvantaged or needy children,” Cuthbertson said. “They’ll be delivered to children just before the holidays.” Toys can be for “all age groups, but it’s frequent that older children don’t seem to get as much, but are still needy.” Toys for infants to teenagers are accepted.
“It’s a wonderful way to contribute to families in the community,” Cuthbertson said.
